February Winter Break and Delhi
February brought no snow, sunshine and travels from Boston to Delhi. The
weather was mild every where and plenty of beautiful flowers were in bloom and
for display in Delhi. The wedding season was on in full swing and limos are
vying with horses in the Capital, decorated to the hilt. Couple of the hot spots
that we were able to hit - the Blue Room at the Taj and the evergreen Delhi
Gymkhana. The outdoor venue of the Blue Room is stunning with a neon blue pool
reflected against that green lawns and palm trees, massive white candles every
where to light up the darkness. Fireworks at a wedding on the premises lit up
the winter night sky, adding more color in this very colorful country.
Scouring the markets of Delhi for silks, antique sari borders and new
ideas, working with clients for fusion wedding dresses brought back to me the
vital connection between east and west. Eastern craftsmanship, color and
opulence combined with western precision, modern lines and technology. A winning
world. We have a few interesting shows and events coming up.
